  What do the #'s mean?

  i am currious as to what the number talks mean.

  i read a few posts that refer to "i had to do the # 2 talk" or " i had to do the # 4 talk" .

  and why are people assigned/forced to do these?.

  i remember when i was a kid in "the truth.

  there was an elderly sister that had a heart attack during the meeting.

  she made loud gasping sounds as she was holding on for dear life.

  My mother-in-law, Methodist, had a still unexplained seizure, right after the first song. The preacher (a woman) was the first to notice.

  She looked up at the choir, and yelled the name of a man sitting there, and said "CALL 911" !

  The dentist in the audience stands up at that, and watches where the preacher is running to, he follows. They get her into the aisle, couple of sweaters are tossed near her, and used.

  My husband and 8 year old daughter were in the choir. Husband bounds down the stairs, daughter was caught by husbands good friend, before she could run down, and was taken down back stairs. He got his vehicle ready to follow ambulance, and tried to calm down daughter, and she wasn't watching, what was going on.

  Another choir member was in charge of telling husband who had child, and they would meet them at the hospital.

  Two members went outside to stand on each corner, to be able to flag down ambulance. Everybody else stayed put.

  Ambulance came, took her, The preacher said that with all that just happened, she felt that God wouldn't mind changing the agenda in worship services. She said a prayer, asking for god to watch over her, and dismissed church 30 + minutes early. \

  She asked that the phone calling prayer tree by started that morning, and for everybody to call her later, to check on her status.

  That was all unpracticed. Love guided all. Later in the week, she had a small meeting, about what went on, and how they could improve response. Nobody could improve on what was done. It was so perfect, it was like it had been practiced.

  Then more than half of the church, landed in the waiting room of the hospital. Took about a week, for her to recover, took 2 weeks to do tests, to find out that they have no idea what happened.

  Name Certain Things JWs Can't Do

  here's one thing to start off our list: jws can't stand for the country's national anthem (but they can rise for the flag salute).

  During my older brothers graduation, my father ( elder ) told my brother, that if he stood for the National Anthem, or the prayer, that he would come down to the stadium floor, and rip him out of the seat, in front of 1500+people.

  I think I just broke the tele-market man

  well, today is one of those procrastinatey days, i'm at home alone with the cat who is dazzling me with her new tricks.

  so i got pretty excited when the tele-marketer man called to discuss a new and fantastic mobile phone deal.

  i managed to keep him on the phone for 32 minutes as i explained to him that i could only use a blue telephone due to a specific type of colour blindness that i have....which i do not have.... turns out they just don't make blue phones.

  Another time I "played" with the telemarketers, is when they say anything about a product, or would you like_____? I pretended I won, screamed and yelled for my family to come to the kitchen to tell them I had won, said thank you 100 times, acted so excited, like I had won the jackpot, OMG I just can't believe it!!!! I have never won anything before!

  When, where, OMG, I can't even think, I am so excited!

  When you hear them try to interupt you, to tell you that is not the way it is, pretend to start talking to your family again!

  Then let them try to find the words to weasel out of it. I have done this 2 times. This has left them almost speechless.

  Go to the mountains, and smell the crisp cool mountain air. Unless you live there already.

  No vacations away from home. Too much money, and you could do a week of pioneering!

  When my daughter was little, I used to tell them to hang on just a minute, I had something on the stove, I will be right back. Then I would give the phone to my 3 year old, who just loved to babble on and on. Sometimes it would take forever for them to hang up.

  With the police, or firefighters association calling, I found out, that these people are calling from other states, and the police etc, only receive about 10%.

  So one day, I decided to see how far they would go. I told them I had lost my job. And I could not pay this month. (I knew it was chairety, but pretended to think they were bill collectors, or something like that)
  
  Could you just give $35.00?
  No, but maybe after the first of the month, if my child support comes in. But he hasn't paid in 5 months.
  Could you at least send $25.00? Every little bit helps.
  I understand, ( I start to fake cry), but I just can't! I just don't have any money.
  Can I just put you down for at least $10.00, and I will send you an envelope. Everybody can afford 10 dollars.
  Sir, I am really sorry, I will try my best to pay you next month, but I can't even afford to have my children eat lunch at school. (almost sobbing)
  Ms W, I will let you go, I will call you next month, and see if you are ready to send a check. Good Bye.

  He asks her to move to Florida. She thought about it, and talked to her dad. My husband. He told her no. you don't know this guy. She has a masters degree, age 38, and is very intelligent. But she wants to go to nursing school, so she can go into administration for hospitals.

  The man, said he would help her get in, and pay for nursing school. Yeah right. I said. I told her to check his background, Check property deeds, check out his business. She is a widow, and she had $75,000 when he passed away, 2 years ago, what about the money from selling her house. She said it would go into the bank. I told her about sleazy men, who prey on women like this, and marry girls like this. Plus, she is getting SS on her and her son.

  Well, she checked him out all right!!! She found out several things. He did own his own company, and it is doing very well. He does not have a criminal record. He owns his home He is 58 years old. He has been divorced for many years, his grown children seem to really like her. His grandchildren are babies. His mother said, he is very very happy, and he even talked about her, before he answered her ad.

  Well, she packed up her stuff, He flew to OKC, to oversee the moving van he hired, and drove to Florida with her, in her car. They have already enrolled her son in a private school, He paid for the whole year up front.

  He called my husband and told him, that he would take care of her, and he wanted to meet her father, and pay for the plane ticket to come visit. Just say when he can come to visit.

  That was last month. Where are they NOW?????

  They just got back from Aruba, and are on a road trip, up the east coast, today, they are in Maryland, looking around.
  When I asked her earlier about the money from her house etc, I said that after you get married, your assets are mingled. Her response, was.. Who said anything about getting married. I can read alot into that statement, but I didn't ask. I may at Christmas.

  I say, get online, what are you wasting time, reading all of this for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  My step daughter was on a couple of them. I am pretty sure e harmony was one. She dated several that were just dinner, and no thanks. One was a pilot, that flew Dr.s to small towns for the day. My husband met him, and really liked him. She Set limits of where the men should live, in a 50 mile radius, how much $ they make /year, etc. Guy from Florida wanted to come visit, She said no. He said, just for dinner, and you can meet me there. He would fly in, just for her, and leave.

  She did. They keep talking, phone, email etc... He wants to see her again. She is still leery. Yes he really lived in Florida, and willing to fly to Ok..

  city, on last minute flight. Had to have cost a bundle, it was only about 5 months ago. They went to eat and movie. He still doesn't know where she lives, etc...

  A week later, he asks her, if her and her son, age 11, and slightly autistic, to come out and visit Florida, to his house. He will arrange tickets, as soon as she says the word. She got off work the next week. They went out there, for a week, said she had a great time. She met his family, his employees, they said he was a great boss. Hmmmmm

  He came to visit Ok!a. again, and this time, she told him where she lived. He came to her house. This is after 2 months. Seeing him, only 2 or 3 times in Okc and a week in Florida.

  My daughter and her foreign exchange friend went with the host parent to a Dr. appt, in a nearby town. Population, maybe 20,000. She dropped them off at a small mall. They looked for prom dresses. Each found the perfect one, within minutes.

  I said NO!!! The prices were horrible!! I had planned to go to Dallas the next day, with the girls, spend the night, and go prom dress shopping. We went to a store in Dallas, called Whatchamacallit. Prom dresses, as far as the eye could see. HUGE store. Lots of help. Everybody very nice. Prices, not cheap, but more reasonable. About $75.00 less, on comparable dresses.

  I bet that store could have outfitted every high school girl in Dallas, and surrounding counties. Do you know, that there was not one dress, that poor girl brought, that came anywhere close, to the fathom prom dresses that they tried on, in the other town.

  I finally conceded that it was a lost cause. I got out a $20.00 bill, and when she came back, for the umpteenth time, with yet a smile on her face, and the girls said no to those dresses, I told her how much I appreciated her time, and valiant effort. That I had never seen somebody work so hard, for 2 teenagers. I gave her the folded bill, in a way, it kinda looked like I was shaking her hand, just in case she wasn't supposed to take it.

  She looked down, and I think she almost peed her pants.

  We got the other dresses. Cost me a motel room, gas, food for 4 for 2 days, $20.00 cash. and list price for the dress.
